​DRD Precision was founded from direct, professional experience. Our founder, during his service in the Marine Corps, observed a critical gap in the market: firearms were not adequately tailored to the individual user, which compromised precision and reliability when it mattered most. This professional insight was later reinforced by his personal experience as a consumer, facing lengthy delays for a custom firearm that ultimately failed to meet specific requirements. These combined experiences created the blueprint for our business—a commitment to solve these exact problems by creating truly customized, high-performance firearms through an efficient, client-focused process.

Dan Duitsman, owner and operator, brings over 25 years of competitive shooting experience to every build. Dan has been building, repairing, and customizing firearms for many years and personally competes with firearms he builds in numerous CMP and NRA rifle matches.

 

As part of the Marine Corps instructor cadre, Dan attended the Marksmanship Instructors’ Course and Instructor Development Course, while continuing to compete at the state, regional, and national levels—winning numerous championships along the way. He was instrumental in establishing and running junior shooting clinics at Camp Butner, North Carolina, and at the CMP National Matches, later serving as Chief Instructor from 2007 to 2009 when he again returned to the Marine Corps rifle team from 2006 to 2009.

Today, Dan continues to compete and apply his extensive experience to build exceptional firearms and train hundreds of shooters, including juniors, military personnel, and civilian competitors.
