ACCOLADES OF THE PAST, PATHING THE WAY TO THE FUTURE!

DRD Precision Firearms was started for those shooters that wanted custom firearms to fit their specific needs. We build custom firearms for competitive shooting, hunting, military & police.

Most firearms enthusiasts know exactly what they want in a firearm, while some may want advice for a specific build based on their purpose.  We offer our services to walk you through a build based on what you want that will meet your needs.

Dan Duitsman, owner/operator (USMC Veteran), has over 25 years of competitive shooting experience and uses his knowledge to build and customize the best firearms for each shooting discipline.  Dan has been building and repairing firearms for many years and builds his own firearms in which he competes at numerous CMP & NRA rifle matches.

While Dan was in the Marine Corps, he had the opportunity to serve with the Marine Corps Shooting Team and competed in numerous local, state, regional, and National Rifle Championship matches. Dan has also served as a marksmanship coach, small arms weapons instructor, and a marksmanship program manager while in the Marine Corps.  Since then, he continues to use his experience to instruct, mentor, and coach shooters on competitive shooting, especially juniors.

Dan joined the Marine Corps in 1995 as an infantryman and served his first two years at Marine Corps Security Forces, Yorktown, VA.  While stationed here, he attended Designated Marksmanship school at Damneck, VA where he first learned about precision shooting.  This led to his path in competitive shooting in which he eventually attended the 2000 Marine Corps Western Division and won a gold medal and a secretary of the Navy trophy rifle as the high tyro.  Followed by the Marine Corps championships, he was then invited to compete with the Marine Corps rifle team in which he earned a silver medal at inner-service and a gold medal at the national matches.  Dan was a firing member of several team matches during the 2000 shooting season that either won or placed in the top three.  He then became a permanent member of the rifle team from 2001-2003 in which he continued to improve as a competitor, coach, and mentor and earned his distinguished rifle badge one year after his first match.

As a member of the instructor cadre for the division matches located throughout the Marine Corps, he attended marksmanship instructors’ course and instructor development course as well as attending numerous state, regional, and national shooting matches winning many of the matches in which he competed in.  Dan was instrumental in helping establish and run the junior clinic at Camp Butner, NC from 2001-2003 and 2006-2009.  He also helped instruct and oversee the junior clinic at the CMP national matches from 2000-2003 and 2006 and then became the chief instructor from 2007-2009.  With over 25 years of Experience as a highly trained competitive shooter, Dan uses his knowledge, skills, and abilities to continue to compete and successfully train and educate hundreds of individuals in competitive shooting to include juniors, military service members, and other civilian competitors.
