Refund and Return Policy

Effective January 1, 2026

1. Custom Firearms & Special Orders

  • Final Sale: All custom-built firearms, custom configurations, and special orders are final sale and non-returnable. Work on these items begins upon receipt of payment, and payments are non-refundable.  If there is an issue with the product, the customer must contact DRD Precision and explain the issues/problems and DRD Precision will determine if we (DRD Precision) are liable for said issues.  Any product that is altered, worked on, adjusted, or otherwise modified in any way will automatically void any warranty.  Only certain items fall within DRD Precision’s warranty guidelines.  If DRD Precision is liable for issues/problems with a custom-built firearm, custom configuration, or special order, we will fix the issue at no cost, replace it, or issue a refund in full.

  • Incorrect Specifications: If a custom-built firearm does not meet the documented specifications agreed upon at the time of order, we will approve a return for repair within 30 days of receipt. If the firearm cannot be repaired, a refund or replacement may be issued at management's approval.

2. Standard (Non-Custom) Firearm Sales

  • Pre-Transfer Inspection: Customers must thoroughly inspect all firearms at their transferring Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer before completing the background check and transfer paperwork.

  • No Returns After Transfer: Once a firearm is transferred to you via ATF Form 4473, it is considered "used" and cannot be returned unless specifically authorized by DRD Precision management.

  • Failed Background Checks: If a transfer is denied by the NICS background check, the firearm may be returned to us, however we reserve the right to hold a restocking fee of 60%.

3. Non-Serialized Accessories & Parts

  • Return Window: Non-serialized items (e.g., optics, grips, stocks) may be returned within 15 days of delivery if they are in new, unused condition and in original packaging.

  • Restocking Fee: Approved returns on accessories are subject to a 20% to 25% restocking fee.

  • Exclusions: Ammunition, used parts, or items that have been installed or altered are strictly non-returnable.

4. Shipping & Fees

  • Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for all return shipping, freight, and insurance costs unless the return is due to our error.

  • Shipping Labels: We do not issue return shipping labels. We recommend using a trackable and insured carrier for all returns.

  • Non-Refundable Costs: Original shipping and credit card processing fees (typically 3%) are non-refundable.

5. Warranty & Repairs

  • Limited Warranty: Custom builds are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from the date of shipment for the original owner.

  • Exclusions: Damage caused by hand-loaded/remanufactured ammunition, unauthorized repairs, or misuse is not covered.

  • Return for Repair: Per 27 CFR § 478.124(a), firearms sent to us solely for repair or customization may be returned directly to the owner without a new Form 4473 transfer.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

All firearms MUST be mailed to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder.  This can be an individual that holds an FFL or to a firearms dealer such as a gun shop.  It is the responsibility of the customer to find their local FFL holder and provide that information to DRD Precision Firearms so we know where to send the firearm.  All purchases over $1,000.00 will receive free shipping.

It is the responsibility of the customer to know the laws and regulations of their state as to what firearms are legal to own.  If a firearm is purchased by a customer from a state in which it is not legal to possess, DRD Precision Firearms will not refund any of the cost until after the firearm is sold to another customer.  When and If the firearm is sold to another customer, the original customer will receive 60% of their original cost.

Before returning firearms to DRD Precision Firearms, we request all customers to contact DRD Precision Firearms so we can determine what any issues may be with the firearm either over the phone or via email.  Often times we may be able to assist with finding a solution before the firearm is sent back.

If it is determined that the firearm must be returned, the entire firearm and all parts must be returned unless otherwise directed by DRD Precision Firearms.  When mailing the firearm, it must be properly packaged to protect the firearms during shipping along with all parts and accessories.

Once we receive the firearm, it will be inspected and test fired to verify problems, this will includes test firing with various types of rounds of ammunition.  If you are using a specific round, such as handload, we do not guarantee anything regarding the accuracy and functionality.  We only guarantee the accuracy and functionality based on ammunition used to test fire the firearm prior to the firearm being sent out which is factory standard ammunition (example: Black Hills, Federal Premium, Hornady).

If we are not able to verify the issues with the firearm, the customer is responsible for costs of ammunition expended for test firing, range time, and shipping and handling.  This typically comes to $150.00 to $200.00 depending on location and type of firearm.  Additionally, if we are not able to determine a problem with the firearm, the customer will be contacted to verify and explain the issue in which they had.  DRD Precision Firearms will then test fire the firearm again and send a video to the customer to show the firearm functioned as designed.  If the problem arises during test firing, the customer will not be charged any expenses and DRD Precision Firearms will fix the problem or replace the firearm part and send back to the customer.

If it is determined that the firearm did not function as designed due to the negligence of the customer or from not being properly taken care of, (examples include not properly cleaning and lubricating the firearm, using improper ammunition, damage to the firearm from dropping it, etc…) DRD Precision Firearms will attempt to repair the firearm however the customer will be responsible for all repairs and replacement parts, shipping and handling.

Because most of DRD Precision Firearms are custom built, if a customer is not satisfied with their firearm and wishes to return it within 30 days after receiving it, there is a 40% restocking fee.  If DRD Precision Firearms is able to resale the firearm to another customer, 20% of the restocking fee will be returned to the customer as long as the firearm is in the same condition as when sent out to the customer.  For those firearms that are pre-built, there will be a 20% restocking fee for any firearms returned as long as the firearm is in the same condition as when sent out to the customer.

DRD Precision Firearms is not responsible or liable for any incidents or consequential damages to firearms, gear and accessories, or persons.  DRD Precision Firearms guarantees reliability and functionality with only factory standard ammunition.  All DRD Precision Firearms are tested to be used for factory standard ammunition and any use of hand load ammunition should be done with care and voids any warranty from DRD Precision Firearms.
